Bluetech

Bluetech is a music producer who creates predominantly electronic music, with a focus in downtempo and ambient music styles. He places significant emphasis on melody in his productions, and his works often demonstrate an influence from Dub and Deep Techno. His expression is mercurial however, so don't be surprised to hear many other genres. Although Bluetech's music includes some "organic" samples, it is created mostly using digital synthesizers and production software, giving a very "digital" quality to it.

Heavyweight Dub Champion

Presenting one of the most exciting live PA performances in the world, the Heavyweight Dub Champion experience is like no other musical liberation movement. A live mix on 50 channels of audio featuring 3 shamanistic sonic alchemists - Resurrector, Patch and Totter Todd; ceremonial guidance and hip hop divinations by Apostle; and reverence and ragga revolution represented by the mighty Stero Lion.

Firmly rooted in Hip Hop, Dancehall Dub and Electronic music, Heavyweight Dub Champion is a movement of interdimensional warriors representing the Army of the Last Champion. Their source is Primal Creative Force that is powerfully represented in music, words, visual art, and video. Through the use of ancient divination practices and sonic vibration, HDC+ brings the audience into a hypnotic trance that opens channels and empowers the listener. While in this state, HDC+ infiltrates minds and removes layers of deception, thus enabling Truth to flourish. This collective artistic performance is called the Liberation Process.

Their debut album "Survival Guide For the End of Time" is a hard-hitting slab of revolutionary consciousness that continues to galvanize a growing legion of followers across the globe. Founded high in the mountains of Colorado and now based in San Francisco, California, HDC+ have stepped-up their outreach and are taking their message to the people. Summer 2006 saw them play some of the best festivals in the US, with the highlight being Reggae on the River where they played a slamming set to a capacity crowd of over 20,000 people. Their upcoming album "Rise of the Champion Nation" (slated for release in 2007 on Champion Nation) features three tracks with the legendary KRS-ONE, and includes contributions from Killah Priest (Wu-Tang Clan), Dr. Israel, Stero Lion, Elf Tranzporter, Wailer B, DJ Illnaughty, Lady K, and many others. The Glitch Mob

When five friends, djs and music producers, Ooah, edIT, Boreta, Kraddy, Kitty-D, all noted fixtures on the West Coast's underground electronica scene, came together one night in an experiment in collaboration, they opened their laptops, and The Glitch Mob was formed, and with it the birth of a sound that is at once fresh and familiar. The Mob deconstructs the standard notions of collaboration, performance, and genre to create a fully immersive, novel experience for their audiences. The format of their live shows takes the convention of a two dj tag-team set and reinvents it by utilizing anywhere from two to five djs on stage at once who interact musically more like a jazz combo feeding one continuous stream, each taking the lead at intuitive moments then threading back into the whole.

Edit

originally one of the four resident DJ's at the now defunkt Konkrete Jungle Los Angeles. along with Hive, Daddy Kev, James Tai and mic rockers Busdriver, Mikah 9 and P.E.A.C.E. they tore this shit up and showed Los Angeles what the fuck is up. Also one of the original Dublab Radio DJ's at the old legendary melrose studio (pre Plug Research days). During that time edIT (formerly known as the Con-Artist) had produced and engineered for the likes of Sole, Busdriver, Aloe Blacc, Emanon, and Dr. Oop. Things change..... a few years later he drops the now classic "Crying Over Pros for No Reason" on µ-Ziq's Planet-Mu imprint.

Ooah

dr. oobot the subsonic scientist makes lots of noises, often times collaborating with other members of the strange and venerable glitch mob. generally ooah aka the mob boss brews audio concoctions consisting of banging drum beats that range anywhere from eighty-five to one hundred and ten beats per minute, squishy gut-wrenching bass frequencies, harmonic poly-rhythmic melodies and bloopy bleepy clicks and clacks. some might know this madman for his outstanding turntablism, others for is highly energetic and consistently danceable hybrid dj/live laptop sets. no matter what the situation may be, ooah and his fellow glitch mob homies are guaranteed to slay the crowd with an outrageously wicked performance and unforgettable sounds that will leave you begging for more...

SPORQUE (Ooah w/ Jamie Janover & Aaron Holstein from ZILLA)

SPORQUE is a musical collaboration between the dj and producer known as Ooah, and Jamie Janover and Aaron Holstein from the band ZILLA. This trio blurs the boundary between dj and live band. Both Ooah and Aaron are synched together on 2 separate laptops, Ooah plays programmed drum beats and loops with a midi controller and drum pads while tweaking all the sounds with multiple effects and a dj mixer, he also uses one turntable for the live turntablism and scratches. Aaron plays all the subsonic bass and harmonic melodies with multiple keyboards and Jamie plays a variety of percussion instruments including the hammered dulcimer, mini-kit and sampler in addition to sitar and electric kalimba. Together as SPORQUE, they stretch the skin around this thing they call "live electronic trip-hop", hopefully opening new synapse pathways to the rest of the musical universe...

The E.L.F. Gabriel

Standing tall behind the musical appendages of choice, often a MacBook Pro, technics turntables, a few cdjs and a whole other array of knobs and dials, E.L.F. also stands as the backbone of the Maui party scene. His seemingly ceaseless efforts to bring quality experience and community spirit to the audiences in Maui are bearing beautiful fruit indeed; not to mention the rest of the US as well. Already a 2007 veteran from events such as the Gem and Trade Show in Tuscon, AZ, and the Hawaii regional Burning Man Gathering, there is little expectation that E.L.F. will slow his roll this year. Combining heavy, scene saturating bass in a dubstep fashion, cutting edge beats (glitched to perfection), HipHopY2K, and a lifetime of musical connoisseur, his sound is unmistakable. Gabriel is currently working with a diverse array artists--almost all notably on the front line of new productions—and for bringing and showcasing said talent on the island of Maui, as well as the Big Island. Gabriel has most recently been responsible for connecting anticipating audiences with The Glitch Mob--as well as individual members Boreta, ooah, Kitty D, edIT, and Kraddy)--David Starfire, and Lorin Bassnectar, and has formed quite an alliance with the immortal Tipper. There is rarely a dull moment when E.L.F. is anywhere nearby, and things seem to be only just heating up.

With an array of drum machines, samplers, sequencers, and instruments, it is a clear devotion to expression and perfection. The beats are smooth, bold, and overwhelming. The original vocals, melodies and hitting bass merge seamlessly into a tapestry of unique and unexpected journeys.

Shen

Taken from the arcane Taoist term for 'refined energy' or 'depth', Shen is Noah Pred's outlet for lower-tempo explorations of forward-thinking computer music. Drawing inspiration from the Eastern aesthetics of botanical architecture and geomantic techniques, Shen attempts to evoke organic structures through lush ecologies of synthetic chords, deep textures and minimalist machinations. Honing his craft through sets performed alongside the likes of Monolake, Deadbeat, Shulman, Ott, Lusine, Bluetech and Solar Fields, Shen's unique interpretation of the downtempo genre rapidly evolved into a distinctly recognizable sound. Incorporating elements of electro, dub and minimal techno, his fluid funk is aimed equally at the public thrill of the dancefloor and the internal transcendence of headphones. With tracks appearing on the acclaimed 'Leftcoast Liquid Vol. 1', 'Floating Point 3' and various Green Samurai Clan compilations, the debut Shen full-length, 'Outlines', was released on Native State Records in December, 2006.

KJ Sawka

Seeing Kevin Sawka on the drums is the only way to believe the hype, the assumed exaggerations of his abilities: that he can play the most complex of jungle, drum'n'bass and breakbeats utilizing no loops and no extended samples -only his two hands and two feet. Whereas some artists claim to be performing live drum'n'bass, live electronica, etc., it's more often than not a drummer playing alongside pre-programmed beats if there's a drummer at all; Sawka, however, can perform each and every 808 bass kick, snare slap, and compressed highhat tick himself, in real-time.

KiloWatts

KiloWatts is a marriage of man and machine - a love story about cells and bits - an attempt at defining a hilariously absurd and imperfect reality through an electronic invention that promises to encode this vision eternally. The music is deep, the songs tell stories, and the sounds are intensely emotional. Nested within the musical structure is an element of quirky electronic experimentation - a roadmap of new and interesting ways of carressing and mangling waveforms. The result is a cinematic tale of knowledge, confusion, and pushing forward.
